Dani Chmiel

Dani is a product maker with experience in delivering revolutionary experiences to users. Her experience spans the worlds of software and hardware and in leading definition and delivery of novel experiences across disciplines, including several experiences on Microsoft’s Surface Duo, named one of Time Magazine’s Top 100 best inventions of 2020. Dani is known as a source of activation energy, a hacker, master storyteller, gap detector and systems thinker. She has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and serves on the department’s alumni board. In her free time, Dani enjoys expressing creativity through floral arrangement, gardening, reading, and connecting with friends and family (husband Mike and two cats, Fox and Zoe).
